Apostleship of the Sea’s Chairman of Trustees, Eamonn Delaney signs up for the Sea to Sea challenge.

Eamonn Delaney, Chairman of Trustees at Apostleship of the Sea (AOS) is proving that leading by example is the best way. He has signed himself up for the official AOS Sea to Sea challenge. He hopes to encourage more people to join up for this truly unique experience. AOS are offering a those who love to travel a chance to walk a historic site on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel, and to participate in an overland trek, all to raise funds for AOS. Participants will have the opportunity to visit some of the world’s most impressive sites and to walk in the footsteps of the apostles across a land steeped in history and religion.

Taking place in October 2008, the Sea to Sea challenge will see Eamonn Delaney and a group of adventurers set off on a trek through the Holy Land. Eamonn hopes to raise a significant amount of money through sponsorship. The money raised will be used to fund projects and services around the UK that directly benefit seafarers. He has even set up his own Just Giving page, where you can sponsor him directly, which can be found at www.justgiving.co.uk/eamonndelaney

The Apostleship of the Sea, AOS, is a maritime welfare charity, providing practical and pastoral support to seafarers, regardless of race, colour or creed (if any).

Ninety percent of world trade is carried by ship, and some 100,000 seafarers visit British ports each year.
